Senior portraits have come a LONG way since the old school studio sessions of the 80’s, 90’s and early 00’s.  Back then you simply booked an appointment at the photographer of your school’s choosing and smiled for your chosen poses.  Everyone’s photos looked pretty much the same . . . boring!

Today’s senior pictures take a more editorial approach.  They are designed to allow each and every senior to showcase his or her own unique personality.  They are colorful and vibrant keepsakes of a precious moment in time.

But with all the other costs associated with senior year - and the costs of college looming - you may be tempted to skimp on senior pictures or skip them all together. You absolutely shouldn’t!   Take it from me, both a mother and a photographer, quality senior photos will be something both the graduate and her family will treasure for years to come.

Photography is about celebrating every stage of life, and senior portraits document a year full of milestones.  For your senior, this will be her last year living at home, the last year surrounded by her childhood friends, the last year she will truly be a child.  Senior photos will most likely be the last professional pictures you have of your son or daughter before his or her wedding, a stepping stone between baby pictures and a wedding portrait.

You want to capture this very special point in time, when your senior is on the cusp of a brand new future.  All of his dreams are in front of him. You won’t ever want to forget this special year … the bridge between childhood and young adulthood.

Today’s senior portraits are highly customized to show every student’s individual personality.  We will work together to choose the location and the look you want. When you book a senior portrait session with Jenny Puranen Photography your senior is sure to shine!
