There are so many reasons I love Los Angeles. The thing that mostly draws me

here, are the many different urban borough's within the city limits.

Today I am focusing on Venice and Venice Beach.

If you search either name on Instagram you find photos varying so greatly you

will wonder if they were all taken in the same place.

I am going to show you all of my favorite places in Venice to get unique and

amazing photos.

It doesn't matter if you are a professional photographer or shoot with an

iphone! You will find yourself with photos that will liven up your Instagram

feed

Lets start on Abbot Kinney Blvd.

A street that is full of unique boutiques and trendy restaurants.

Graffiti art is a common theme on this street, my favorite being the Love wall.

A wall full of multi colored hearts that just makes you feel happy and loved.

When I saw it I just knew I had to do a family shoot there.

Why not my family? So I grabbed the tripod and we got some awesome shots

seen below

Here is a Venice secret you probably didn't know.

The Venice Canal Historic District has man-made canals built in 1905

by Abbot Kinney himself!

He was recreating the appearance and feel of Venice, Italy.

The canals and arched bridges are pedestrian and photo friendly.

Today they are still a desirable and expensive residential section of the city.

Check these out!

I photographed a model along the canals last summer and

we had a blast while capturing some unique shots.

I am sure you all have heard of the famous muscle beach.

I wasn't sure this actually existed till I saw it.

An outdoor gym surrounded by a caged fence.

Honestly it reminds me of a prison yard.

However it is an icon and a must see location on a trip to Venice.

Make sure to keep your camera in hand,

you never know who you will run into there.

On our last trip we bumped into my son's idol and you tube sensation IKE.

He is one of the regulars and its so fun to watch them bench press people

above their heads.

This is just the tip of the iceberg for photo worthy spots in Venice.

You cant leave without photographing the Venice street sign

on the corners of Pacific and Windward Streets.

The skate park, roller skate girls and graffiti walls can not be missed.

If nothing else take a walk down the strand or Venice streets.

You will keep discovering and inventing your own photo spots!!
