This post is specifically for my old assistant Colin Ziemer. He is the one that taught me less is more! When we would go to a shoot he would say and I quote" why do you bring all this crap with you?" I used to carry around every lens, every light, every prop I owned you name it! I lived by the motto better to be over prepared than under prepared!!!! However I only ended up using maybe 1/4 of what I carried around. So one day I really thought about what I actually used and put together what is my go to bag now. It is pretty much always packed with the same stuff no matter what the shoot is. Wanna take a peek?

Colin is also the one that watched me get drenched by rain a couple times carrying a soft sided camera bag and finally talked me into getting the waterproof hard sided Pelican case. Now that I travel with all my equipment I am so glad I got this. So what is all this in my bag?  keep reading.....

Just so you know who I am talking about here is Colin and I back in the day. Now he is a big shot photographer in New York! Go Colin!!!!!

I carry around these Lens to every shoot. My Nikkor 24-70 ( great for wide angle large group shots) My 50mm I almost always use this in the studio, My 70-200mm I love this for individual shots! stand back real far and zoom all the way in you get a beautiful portrait shot and last but not least my favorite most versatile the 85mm. I love this lens bc I can use it in the studio plus it takes pretty much every family photo I have taken. It is my lens with the most crystal clear photos and I just LOVE it!!!!!!! Best money spent

Camera: I am Nikon through and through! Love it and would never change it! I currently own the D850. I have had the D90, 800 AND 810 in the past I love them all about the same

For lighting its pretty much always my evolve and my godox trigger. I use this in a softbox (not shown). but I love the power this little guy can do and I find no difference between doing a shoot with this and a shoot with my strobes on location

I always carry my Fuji XPRO2 around with me at all times. This is my family camera! I love the attached lens and never change it. This is a mirror less camera which I could not write you the specifics of that but I love the editorial style shots I get with it. This camera  plus children's photography equals something special you will not see with other photographers. I like to try and grab in 10 min of candid's with this camera for every session just to get that editorial look. Below are a few photos I took with it recently.

THANKS FOR READING!!!!!!!!!
